A Glance Behind the Reading

In this course, we'll be reading some passages that I've pulled from books or test prep books and we'll analyze what's happening in the text. It'll be similar reading comprehension questions as you might see in the SSAT or ISEE, but we will spend more time for each reading. Along with context related analysis, we'll look at interesting figurative language or literary devices for example like symbolism or metaphors. In addition to the reading comprehension aspect, we'll look at certain words within the texts that may be unfamiliar or unknown to you and highlight its root. Together as a class we will try and piece together a definition using the root and context.
