Fundamentals of Debate

Class Info

Aimed at middle school students who are interested in learning about debate, this course aids students in getting a head start in their debate teams. The course will start off with an introduction to the various forms and terms of debate, then go on to hone in on students’ skills in the different components of debate. There will be speech and quick thinking exercises throughout the course to give students practice, and the course ends with a final debate that students will have two weeks to prepare for. By the end of the course, students will be able to grasp the fundamentals of debate.

Instructor Info
Janna is a rising freshman at Watchung Hills Regional High School. In school, she has participated in a multitude of clubs, including the debate club and robotics club, where she has won numerous awards. Additionally, she graduated at the top of her class and has received countless honors in her academic work. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing the clarinet, and playing tennis. She is excited for this opportunity to help others find their passion and potential in these areas.
