Introduction to Chess

Class Info

This course is recommended for those who are interested in playing chess but have little to no prior experience. This course will focus on how to play, rules, pieces, and other beginner level material. The course will be a nice way to start off your chess career. We will end each class with a short lichess tournament.​

Instructor Info
Yule Park is a rising sophomore at Neuqua Valley High School. He has participated in numerous mathematics competitions such as Mathcounts and the AMC competition series. Apart from math, he is part of his high school’s chess club. He has experience tutoring others in programs such as Team Tutors 204. During his spare time, he likes to play basketball and playing the cello. He looks forward to help make education accessible for everyone and hopes to use this opportunity to help others achieve their goals and reach their potential.

Rishi is a rising sophomore at Neuqua Valley High School. He has participated in multiple chess tournaments such as the Illinois Denker Qualifier, US Junior Open and placed 2nd at the Illinois All Grade Championship. He is on a passionate journey to spead the knowledge of chess to every corner of the world. He is trying to enlarge the chess community and make it accessible to everyone, from beginners to seasoned players.
